You don’t need to run 5 km to get a lift from exercise
An Australian Study has produced the biggest and most compre4hensive review of the literature around the link between exercise and the management of anxiety and depression. It showed that exercise is 1.5 times more effective than counselling and medication. This isn’t to suggest that exercise can replace drugs and counselling but that exercise should be formally built into any medical management of these conditions. The Financial Review’s health editor, Jill Margo, writes that the study found that longer exercise programs were less effective than shorter ones.
